What is a Non Toxic Slow Cooker – How to Go About Finding One

Nontoxic is the buzz word among healthy cooks but what does it really mean? When it comes to food, anything that can potentially contaminate it in any way is toxic. And the cooking vessel is most likely to react to food while cooking if it is made from a toxic material.

Is slow cooking healthy?

Slow cooking is considered a healthy and nutritious way of cooking food, but did you know that your cookware can leach toxins even when you are cooking on low heat? This means that your wisely chosen healthy and nutritious foods may not be as beneficial after slow cooking in a toxic pot. For those striving to cook healthy meals, a nontoxic slow cooker is an educated choice.

The commonly available electric handmade gifts or instant pot available in the market come with lofty claims of cooking your food healthy and nutritious in a convenient way. Of course, they offer a lot of convenience but there is little to no focus on the ‘non-toxic’ aspect.

What makes Conventional Crock Pots unhealthy

Conventional slow cookers typically use ceramic or stainless steel insert. All metals are reactive and ceramic is low quality clay full of toxic impurities laden with harmful chemicals. Ceramic glaze has been found to contain heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. Such slow cooker leaches while cooking and causes health concerns.

Ceramic pots can cause lead poisoning

Considering the awareness about the health risks of lead exposure, some makers came up with lead and cadmium free crock pots. These contain heavy metals in “safe levels”, but can lead contaminated food be really safe when ingested?

How Miriam’s slow cookers are different

After disappointments from what was not there in the market, Miriams Earthenware researched different non-toxic materials that can be used to make cookware and no wonder, they found their answers in the nature. These lead free slow cookers are uniquely different.

Primary clay is the only all-natural material that is innately non-reactive and can be used to make a truly nontoxic slow cooker, different from other slow cookers. Miriams clay pots are made from lab tested primary clay sourced from the brass masala box . They do not use any additives, chemicals, or glazes. It is entirely lead free and therefore there is no lead contamination to the food.

Miriam’s Earthen Cookware does not have a toxic non stick coating on the pot either! With a simple seasoning technique the pot becomes naturally non stick after initial seasoning and 4-5 uses of cooking water-based recipes.

And Miriams non-toxic slow cooking pots are rich in features that make healthy cooking fast and easy – thanks to ergonomic design and unique hand-finishing. Miriams clay radiates unique far infrared heat that is gentle on nutrients and thoroughly cooks food by penetrating deep inside. Therefore, food cooks fast at low heat while retaining the natural taste and aroma.

Unlike a conventional crock pot, handmade cookware are multifunctional – you can use them to cook various kinds of recipes like rice & grains cooking, baking, pressure cooking, making yogurt, Dutch oven cooking and many more. And when cooking acidic foods, the clay alkalizes the food. No other unglazed clay pot can match these features.

Interested in slow cooking your favorite recipes in a truly non-toxic cooking pot? Head over to Miriams online store and order a pot today! Here are some slow cooker recipes to try in your healthy pot:

Are ceramic crock pots toxic?

Ceramic is made from low quality clay with toxic impurities further laden with harmful chemicals and lead glaze. The clay can include metals such as Iron, Manganese, Titanium, Magnesium, Aluminum, Barium, Copper, and even Lead and Cadmium. The material is often sourced in part from mining waste (far from being high quality sources), then further modified with hundreds of chemicals and additives in production. Therefore, ceramic crock pots are toxic to food.

How to Write High-Quality Papers and Essays More Quickly

I'm not gon na lie: writing papers can suck. Even as someone who basically writes papers for a living these days (like this article), I still viewed every college paper with a tinge of dread.

After all, writing a paper isn't like working math problems or reading a chapter of a book. As frustrating as those activities can be, they always seemed more finite than the monumental task of "writing a paper." You can't just open the book and start working: you have to brainstorm, research, outline, draft, edit, and add those pesky citations.

As I moved through college, however, I developed a system for cranking paperswriting.services in record time. This let me spend more time on things that I enjoyed, such as writing for this blog and taking long walks through the woods. Today, I'm going to share this process so that you too can write papers more quickly (without a decrease in the quality of your writing).

Sound impossible? Read on to see how it works.

1. Understand the Assignment

The ultimate waste of time when writing a paper is to write something that doesn't even answer the question the professor is asking. Don't be afraid to ask the professor to explain any part of the assignment that's unclear.

If the assignment seems vague, it's not because the professor is trying to trip you up. Often, it's that they know their field so well that it's easy for them to think some things are "obvious" ... even when they aren't to us non-experts.

Remember: asking for clarification because you don't understand the assignment doesn't make you stupid; what's stupid is to complete the assignment without understanding it.

Yet, when I was an English TA in college, I saw this problem all the time. Students would spend hours researching and writing a paper on a completely paper writer than what the professor assigned. It doesn't matter how good a paper is-- if it doesn't answer the question, it's going to receive a bad grade.

Best case scenario, the professor is nice and lets you rewrite it, but why do all that extra work? Furthermore, asking the professor for clarification shows initiative-- that you care about the assignment. Demonstrating this level of engagement with your assignments can only boost your grade.

2. Research with Ruthless Efficiency

Once you understand the assignment, you need to start researching. But beware! If you're not careful, research can be one of the best ways to procrastinate. "One more source" can easily turn into hours that you could have been writing.

To overcome the temptation to procrastinate on research, I employ my favorite approach for beating all forms of procrastination: setting a time limit. As I explained in my guide to research, you shouldn't spend more than 30 minutes paper writer service of the final paper researching. That is, if the paper is supposed to be 5 pages, don't spend more than 2.5 hours on research (maximum).

Spending any more time than this puts you at a point of diminishing returns. Don't worry about not having enough information. If you find that you need more info after you start writing, you can always do more research. The goal of your initial research session is to give you just enough material to start writing. Get into the library or database, find your sources, take your notes, and then get to writing.

3. Create a Flat Outline

" It's impossible to figure out every detail of your argument before you sit down, look at your sources, and actually try to write. Most students abandon their hierarchical outline soon after their fingers hit the keyboard."

-- Cal Newport, "How to Use a Flat Outline to Write Outstanding Papers, Fast"

Ever since I learned the traditional method of outlining papers in 8th grade, I felt the system was broken. I never created an outline with bullets and numbers and letters before writing the paper. I always just made one up afterwards because I was required to turn one in with the final paper.

Starting in college, I developed my own outlining technique that was much more effective. As it turns out, my technique wasn't so original after all. As Cal Newport explains, it's called a flat outline. In Cal's words, the flat outline works as follows:

Don't build a hierarchical outline. Instead, list the topics you want to tackle in the order you want to tackle.

Isn't this so much better? The flat outline works because it mirrors the writing process. No one sits down to write with a perfect idea of what they're going to say. You discover what you're going to say through the process of writing. The flat outline gives you just enough structure to overcome the dreaded "blank canvas" while still leaving room for discovery.

Struggling to write your draft? Here's how to overcome writer's block.

4. Create the Perfect Writing Environment

Okay, so you have a rock solid understanding of the topic, you've done your research, and your flat outline is ready. Now, you need to sit down and write the sucker. But not so fast: where you write makes a difference.

Because after procrastination, the greatest obstacle to write my paper quickly is distraction. If you don't have an environment where you can focus, you'll waste hours jumping back and forth between the paper and whatever distractions come your way.

To make sure you have the focus of a zen master, you must create a writing environment that enables zen-like focus. For a full guide to creating a distraction-free study space, check out our article on the topic. In the meantime, here's a summary of the best practices:

Go to a studious place. This could be a quiet part of the library, an off-campus coffee shop, or even your dorm room. Wherever you know that people won't distract or interrupt you, that's the place you must go.

New details on Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Mercenaries of Fortune, out June 22

ld loyalties bite the dust as our Operators form new factions in search of riches beyond their wildest dreams. Money talks in Mercenaries of Fortune, the fourth season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing with it a host of new content, including new maps, new weapons, new Operators, 100 Tiers of Battle Pass content, and more.

Fortune’s Keep

A mercenary hideout built atop an otherwise Call of Duty Unlock All Shop with a rich history, Fortune’s Keep is a completely original Resurgence map created by High Moon Studios. It is roughly the same size as Rebirth Island and features four distinct points of interest:

Town

Inspired by colorful Mediterranean villages, this seaside community is littered with cobblestone alleyways and flat rooftops to traverse. An old fortress sits in the town’s center, inviting Operators in for intense combat with its bell tower that commands this section of the map.

Smuggler’s Cove

True to its name, Smuggler’s Cove is loaded with supplies, including Gas Masks that can be helpful in case of a circle collapse. Be prepared to explore the twisting Sea Caves, Grottos with sunlight shining in from above, a small collection of fishing huts, and a lighthouse.

Keep

The island’s namesake, the Keep is a medieval fortress converted into a mercenary headquarters and hideout. Walk on the ramparts and take to the watchtowers to defend the area from invaders, but know that they can also easily fly over the walls using nearby Redeploy Balloons or sneak into the area using the island’s tunnel system.

Winery

A laid-back complex inspired by traditional three-lane maps, the Winery provides plenty of scavenging opportunities. Head to the Cellar to stock up on supplies, or travel to the nearby Camp, which contains a helipad and multiple military tents.

Fortune’s Keep also brings Call of Duty Unlock All Shop. Accept a Black Market Run Contract for the chance to purchase items not available at normal Buy Stations like the Sequencer Grenade and the Nebula V Minigun. In Cash Extraction, ambush a mercenary group and grab their gold before they take it off the island for good.

New Caldera POI — Storage Town

Originally in Verdansk, Storage Town comes to Caldera and is located between the Mines, Airfield, Village, and Dig Site. Search the sprawling complex for Contracts and items and use its newfound verticality to quickly traverse the map.

Expect over a dozen other Point of Interest changes across Caldera, partially due to new mercenary camps cropping up. Could they be searching for the rumored Mercenary Vaults?

Armored SUV (In-Season)

Hop into the new Armored SUV when you need to travel through enemy-occupied territory. This vehicle features a mounted driver’s weapon, a dedicated rooftop turret seat, the ability to drop proximity mines, and a Nitro Boost for rapid acceleration.

ATMs

Hit up ATMs in Plunder game modes to acquire bags of gold that periodically spawn nearby. Gold will spawn up to a maximum amount.

EMP Grenade

Disable vehicles and disrupt Call of Duty Unlock All Shop using the EMP Grenade, a nonlethal tool that creates a short-lived area of effect when it explodes. Affected players are stripped of their HUD information, while vehicles are momentarily powered down.

New maps, Blueprint Gun Game in Multiplayer

A reimagining of the USS Texas map from Call of Duty: WWII, USS Texas 1945 is a medium-sized map that’s moved from the white Cliffs of Dover to the waters around Caldera. Fight it out on a battleship designed for tense long-range engagements on starboard and port, and get plenty of close-quarters action amid its many confined interior locations.

Desolation (In-Season)

Deploy to a Pacific listening post in this small-to-medium-sized map set in a dense village littered with destruction. Large mountains and a vast landscape engulf the environment as you battle around the central building and along its creekside fortifications.

HAND-SOLDERING WITH THE SAME HIGH QUALITY RESULT AS REFLOW OR WAVE SOLDERING

Are you ready for the challenge ? Let us look at the mini-wave soldering technique.

 perfect tools?

This picture shows that tools and skills are the basics to achieve a good result in hand-soldering. You agree ?

Hand-soldering is in most cases the last step in the Circuit Board Troubleshooting diagnostics and repair training assembly process. Why is it less controlled and more difficult than other steps in the manufacturing. It is something we all know how to do. It”s just heating up a PCB and a component to make a solder joint. Isn”t that simple?

PCB designers, technicians, electronics engineers, we all learned at school how to solder with an iron. It can be 5 or 35 years ago, but we assume that not a lot has changed. A lot did change!

Do we still take our car to a service where they have only mechanical hand-tools to fix it ? They do have a lot of tools these days to do a good repair job.

Soldering connections – Solderjoint

A good solderjoint is an electrical and mechanical connection which in the best condition is made in one shot with a temperature as low as possible, and as quick as possible. This rule is still valid, even when solder-alloys have changed from Sn63/Pb37 to the leadfree SAC305, SN100,.. or whatever the alloy used.

A good iron and the right skills makes the perfect start. What is the temperature of your iron today? How is the geometry and condition of your tip? What solder-materials do you use? Are you soldering leadfee assemblies?

Today we show you a technique to solder a Circuit Board Soldering, BGA Rework and Reflow training Small outline Integrated Circuit 16 I/O) or PQFP-100 with Gull Wing leads. The quality we like to match is the same or even better than in a full automated production line. We all know how to solder this point by point, but do we master the Mini-wave technique?

See more details from the SOIC in the package outline

PQFP component SOIC 16

What do we need :

Soldering station (iron)

Soldertip

Solderwire

Flux past / Flux pen

Tweezer

Cleaning product

EPA zone ( ESD protected area)

How do we proceed:

Set the temperature as low as possible considering the pcb design ( layers, copper mass )

Insert the tip into the soldering iron

Heat-up the tip and check the tip conditions: the solder should flow (spread evenly) over the plated tip area.

If this is not the case, clean the tip surface ( to remove oxidation)

if this does not help, replace the tip with a new one.

Place the SOIC 16 on the PCB and attach 2 or 4 corners to hold the component in place ( Apply flux to the pads before placing the SOIC on the board)

Add flux paste or flux to all leads/pads on the SOIC16

Clean the solder-tip on a wet sponge or brass tip cleaner

Add solder to the tip-end (miniwave or conical tip)

Solder all leads Hand Soldering Workshop by adding the right amount of solder. The solder is provided by hand using a fine solderwire.

Place the mini-wave tip ( parallel to the pads) on the first pin of the PQFP/SOIC and move along the pins at a constant speed. Solder all leads in less then 5-10 seconds.

Do the same thing again on the other sides of the PQFP/SOIC

Clean all Flux-residues with a cleaning solvent and ESD-safe trigger grip

Inspect joints

The difference between both techniques is that the point to point technique takes much more time than the mini-wave technique. With the point to point technique it is also more difficult to have an even quantity of solder on all the joints.

Read Arabic Now 15 Awesome Arabic Blogs at 4 Different Levels of Difficulty

What are you reading in Arabic?

The news? Classic literature? “100% قطن” (cotton) on the inside of your jeans?

Real” Arabic texts can seem at opposite ends of the spectrum—either requiring full fluency (and a BA or PhD in linguistics) or being pointlessly simple.

What about the middle?

Plenty of your online reading for your hobbies besides learn arabic (remember those?) takes place on blogs. You may have thought Arabic blogs are too hard for a learner, but not all blogs are equally forbidding. Some of them contain keys that allow you to access meaning—from helpful hints all the way to full translations in English.

Reading Arabic blogs is a chance to learn about topics you love from perspectives you won’t often hear in English.

Not to mention, you’ll be honing lots of key language skills while reading blogs, too!

The Best Reasons to Read Arabic Blogs

Outgrown your textbook readings? If you’ve been studying Arabic for a year or two, you may find that the readings in your curriculum feel limited or constructed. Authentic materials will truly expand your horizons and get at topics that matter to you.

They’ll really cement in key terms. Repetition is key to learn arabic language words in any language. While there’s debate on exactly how many times you need to encounter a new word to remember it, regular updates from the same blog author will expose you to vocabulary activated in their chosen topic.

They’re a stepping stone to literature. Almost all Arabic literature is written in الفصحى (Modern Standard Arabic), but even if you’re focusing on MSA instead of dialect, you’ll have to work for many years before you can read the classics. One native speaker described MSA to me as Shakespearean English, except 10 times more removed (read: harder) from contemporary language. You can cram vocab all you like, but without seeing it used—and repeated—in a context, those words will fall right out of your head. Plenty of blogs employ formal Arabic to describe elevated topics, and you’ll notice your Arabic smarts go up as you practice reading them.

Get a primer in politics. There’s a lot of uncertainty in Arabic-speaking parts of the world right now—will repressive governments continue with business as usual, or will the public finally get a bigger say? So much of that discourse about the future is happening online. If you want to be able to read the tweets of influencers like Bassem Youssef and Rasha Abdulla you’ll need to pick up some political vocabulary and colloquial expressions. Tweets don’t come with translations, but as you’ll see, many blogs do.

How Can I Dive Into Reading Arabic Blogs?

Tweak your usual study habits to make sure you’re learning from the Arabic blogs you read.

Make your own vocab lists. Unlike reading the news on learn arabic online, these blogs won’t come with a vocab list for each entry. Look up any new words you see, but only take notes to review words you expect to use in the future. For the love of falafel, don’t study every single new word. Some of them will literally never come up again, and you’ll overwhelm yourself, waste time, resent your life, etc. It’s your language study, so personalize it.

Watch out for idioms. Remember not to rely on Google Translate or your own literal interpretation of words that don’t seem to make sense together. مع ذلك doesn’t mean “with that,” it means “however.” Look up phrases on your favorite idiom sites, or ask for help from a tutor or language forums. Idioms you think you’ll use, throw into your flashcard app or preferred spaced repetition software.

Beyond reading. There are four language skills—reading, writing, speaking and listening—so make sure you’re engaging the rest of your linguistic brain while studying written materials. Record yourself reading a paragraph aloud to practice speaking. Listen to your recording a couple days later without the blog in front of you to practice listening—find out if you still understand the text after it has left your short term memory. Copy the article yourself longhand or by typing. Through re-writing, you can pick up some of the author’s style to use to express your own ideas.

Coffee Machine Buying Guide

Coffee's history can be traced back to the tenth century AD. At that time, coffee was only used in Ethiopia. This is where the first coffee plant was grown by highlanders.

The Arabs saw the potential for trading and exported the beans to northern Africa where they were cultivated in large quantities. The coffee was discovered by early 14th century explorers. They called it a drug and reported the numerous medicinal benefits of its consumption.

The beans were then introduced to the Indian and European markets in 17th century. There, coffee gained popularity as "the wine from Arabia".
